Summer Concert - Sun 28 June 2026, 6.30pm at Hope Valley College, S33 6SB Tickets £15, Under-16s £10 Come along to hear the choir perform Faure’s Requiem - a beautifully serene work about faith in eternal rest which is uplifting and hopeful, and Ave Maris Stella by Cecilia McDowell. This is a beautiful and moving piece starting and finishing in a mood of peace and certaint; the work is structured around a turbulent middle section anticipating the gathering storm. These longer pieces will be paired with two short pieces: Cantique De Jean Racine (Faure) and Love Divine (Howard Goodall). 'Sing Songs from the Musicals - Mondays 29 Jun-27 Jul 2026, 7.30-9.30pm - New five-week course £32 for five sessions (29 June, 6, 13, 20 and 27 July) Hathersage Memorial Hall, S32 1DU Join Hathersage Choir for a brand‑new five‑week singing course celebrating musical theatre. This friendly and enjoyable course is perfect for anyone who wants to experience the joy and wellbeing benefits of singing in a choir. The course costs £32 for the five sessions, . We will meet at Hathersage Memorial Hall and start at 7.30pm until 9.30pm (including a 15 minute break). The course is led by Caroline Hallam, the Musical Director of Hathersage Choir. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a more experienced singer, you’ll be warmly welcomed and fully supported. Sheet music will be provided, but no music‑reading skills are required, and learning tracks will be available to help you practise between sessions. Over the course, we’ll learn three much‑loved musical theatre pieces:

Circle of Life from The Lion King
When I Grow Up from Matilda
Alongside learning the songs, you’ll be introduced to:
Healthy and sustainable singing technique

Carols at Hollowford Christmas Market, December 2025 We had fun singing carols at the Hollowford Christmas Market in Castleton.
Carol singing at Moorland House, December 2025 Alongside Hathersage Brass Band, choir members joined staff and residents and families for a carol singing session at Moorland House care home.
Christmas Concert, 30 November 2025 It was our first performance with new Musical Director Caroline, and the addition of new choir members this term required us to add an extra row to our concert formation! We performed Karl Jenkins' A Celebration of Christmas plus a selection of other winter music, with the audience joining us on some carols as we launched the festive season.
30th Anniversary celebration, June 2025 Choir members past and present gathered to celebrate 30 years of Hathersage Choir, with memories, photos, stories and a lovely shared meal together. Here's to the next 30 years!
Summer Concert, June 2025 We celebrated the 30th anniversary of Hathersage Choir by singing some of our favourite repertoire from the past 30 years, as well as some new pieces. We also bade a sad farewell to Kate Mercer, our Musical Director for the past eight years.
Christmas Concert, December 2024 It was another sell-out concert - we rose to the challenge of singing Haydn's Little Organ Mass, and even hired in an organ for the occasion! Plus a mix of Christmas music familiar and new.
Summer Open Evening, June 2024 We marked the end of our summer season with an informal open evening, singing a selection of songs including an amazing arrangement of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Over 20 visitors came along to listen or join in, and we enjoyed chatting over refreshments afterwards.
Spring Concert, April 2024 It was an fantastic experience to sing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in two sell-out performances at Hope Valley College. Hathersage Choir and the Hayfield Singers joined together to form a mass choir of nearly 100 people and we were accompanied by two grand pianos, a suite of percussionists, some very talented soloists and a children's choir from Hathersage Primary School. Christmas Concert, December 2023 We had another sell-out concert at Hathersage Memorial Hall, and enjoyed the challenge of singing John Rutter's Magnificat and Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium, alongside lot of Christmas favourites.
Summer concert, June 2023 We had a great time at our concert at Hathersage Parish Church. Performing to a packed church we sang Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo (Flanders and Horovitz) alongside a children's choir from St Michael's Primary School, as well as some other music fit for a summer's evening.
Christmas concert, December 2022 We challenged ourselves with excerpts from Handel's Messiah alongside some new and familiar carols. The choir really enjoyed learning some new winter-themed music, a highlight of which was Lauridsen's Sure on this Shining Night.
Summer concert, June 2022 Our first concert following the disruption of Covid saw us dressed in red, white and blue to mark the Jubliee. After a selection of part-songs and an Andrew Lloyd Webber medley, we sang pieces linked to the 1953 coronation including Handel's Zadok the Priest and Parry's I was Glad.
'Come and Sing' day - Faure's Requiem, February 2020 We had an enjoyable time at Hathersage Methodist Church learning Faure's Requiem in a single day, culminating in a late afternoon performance (mainly to ourselves!). As well as 38 members from the choir we welcomed 40 visitors, including two singers who had travelled from Lincolnshire for the day to join us.
Christmas concert, December 2019 The Memorial Hall was packed as we sang The First Noel cantata by Vaughan Williams plus a range of other Christmas music.
